Together with our exhibitor partner PVR Ltd., the leading entertainment company in India, we are excited to announce that the very first digital IMAX? theatre has arrived in South India. Moviegoers will now be able to experience the world?s best and most immersive moviegoing experience by visiting the new IMAX theatre at the PVR Forum, Bangalore.

Inside IMAX theatre

PVR Forum rolled out the IMAX blue carpet for you to experience your favourite movies like never before. As you can see from the pictures, this multiplex was developed with you in mind?with astounding interiors and large LCD screens throughout the complex. ?

The theatre recently opened with the premiere of SKYFALL?, which was specially formatted for IMAX, featuring 26% more of the image than standard theatres. We are happy to allow movie fans throughout South India to experience this iconic Bond film in IMAX theatres.

So what makes an IMAX theatre so special?

Seeing a movie in IMAX is like seeing an entirely different movie. Everything from movie itself to the theatre technology was customized to make you believe you?re a part of the film.

But there isn?t one thing that allows us to deliver the most immersive movie experience in the world; it?s a combination of many proprietary technologies and architecture ? almost all of them inventions that are unique to IMAX.?

For more information about what makes IMAX so different, be sure to follow our IMAX 101 Series for an in-depth look into the elements of The IMAX Experience?. ?

As we look ahead to the remainder of 2012 and 2013, we have an exciting upcoming line-up of films to be released in India, including this year?s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in December.? You can look forward to seeing some of the biggest films of 2013 in IMAX including Oblivion, Star Trek Into Darkness, Man of Steel and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

We?re also thrilled that our 2013 film slate includes our first Bollywood title ? the highly anticipated DHOOM: 3 from Yash Raj Films.

The film marks the first Bollywood production to be released in IMAX. When it opens in late 2013, we expect to have 10 new IMAX theatres open in the country.

As we continue to grow throughout India, you can expect to see more IMAX theatres featuring some of the most highly-anticipated movies, including Bollywood films presented in IMAX.

Stay tuned for more info on Dhoom: 3 and upcoming films in IMAX.? Visit www.IMAX.com/theatres to see what?s playing in your local IMAX.
